| Roleplay Style | AFW started briefly as a by email federation, but quickly got a guestbook (not messageboard) on themaze.com for roleplays. Thinks quickly took off, and although the roleplays were often short, and usually without setting, there were a lot of them! Over time, role-plays began to become better and better. It tended to have out of character messages on it as well. Eventually, Jack turned us over to a messageboard style, which fell to problems when he tried to archive them. Eh, whatever. A copy of all of the original roleplay book (not the board, though, and I think a week or two near the book's end is missing) |
| Who I handled | Wilde Tanke and Jeff Duane; Ace Tanke, Rebecca Tanke and Shelly Hollins also had an occasional match under the AFW banner. |
| Big names there | MasterIceman, Maximus_Ordicus, Anti AFW (later the New Anti AFW Order after it merged with the IWCW's NWO), Masters of FIRE, the Darkside Alliance, Suicide, the Brotherhood, Security. |
The Association of Fantasy Wrestlers lasted all of thirteen months, not bad for an ewrestling federation, especially one that started as well, average, as it did. Shawn Armstrong ran it for six months before handing it over to me. I wasn't able to hold it long, and it never really totally recovered for more than a few weeks at a time after Shawn left.
It certainly had it's share of memorable moments, however. My vice president at the time, Brandon Townsend, took it after I lost internet connection. It stayed with him til he had internet problems of it's own, and after him, went through presidencies by Al Reidie, Adam Stone, and a few others.
Eventually, though, Stan tried unsuccessfully to bring AFW back. A while after that, we actually tried bringing SAFW back as a council. Big ideas, but of the regions (WNW, NWW, and Nightmare Wrestling, which was renamed from CNWO as a condition of entry to SAFW), only NWW really got off the ground and that was only for a month tops.
It was originally simmed with WLS wrestling simulator, with members writing the cards themselves. Later on, Shawn changed over to TNM, while keeping the fully written cards, which were usually sent out by email. Only pay per views were posted on the web (and I'm not even sure he posted them on the web in the beginning) until I took over and started posting some them in a rather colorful fashion on the world wide web.>
